Celebrating a Life
by scattering the ashes of someone you love – near the ocean or let’s light a thousand lanterns and let their spirits soar or a bushland burial..
Planning for a funeral can be an opportunity for a family and friends to come together, to share an intimate experience with their loved one and to strengthen the bond between us all.
I encourage you to consider that the ceremony doesn’t necessarily have to be held at the discretion of the funeral director. It can take place at a Church, an outside chapel, the home of the deceased, nursing home or any place that personifies their life whilst on earth, a place where the family can quietly reflect in their familiar surroundings. There are many possibilities.
An end of life ceremony can be whatever you want it to be … it can be a memorial service or a living wake and whatever the occasion calls as we are not limited to any time or place… for example, I love twilight services… or dawn … I have also performed the most exquisite outdoor funeral service in the Nangulan gardens in country Victoria. There were no time restrictions or day – in fact we held it on a Saturday evening.
Memorial services or living wakes are a precious time for everyone to say their heart felt farewells when family and friends have the opportunity to make their travel arrangements if necessary.
So take the time you need. I feel so so blessed to be able to bring you a message of hope that your loved one’s end of life service will honor them and that we have all been given this unique opportunity to show the love we have for them.
For me I am planning my own funeral. It will be the scattering of my ashes at one of my favorite beaches with the extraordinary Israel Kamakawiwoʻole singing Somewhere over the rainbow and What a Wonderful World ! I know it sounds like everyone is doing that but hey it’s my funeral afterall…….
Blessings to you at this time of bereavement…. I will walk beside you and take you through the hardest day of your life which you thought you could never do alone….So please talk to me soon and wonder the difference we can make together to our lives.Blessings to you at this time of bereavement…. Kristina
